#15F - All Ages Family Class Fall Play "The House Rules"

ALL AGES FAMILY CLASS FALL PLAY
"The House Rules"
By Bruce Deachman, Joanna Henry and Megan Piercey Monafu
Directed by Megan Piercey Monafu
Bailey is ready to leave the broken down housing co-op run by her father, where everyone knows everyone else’s business and amateur tunes from the music school on the first floor play day and night. But just as she’s ready to leave and pursue her dreams, tragedy strikes and Bailey is tasked with saving the co-op and everyone in it. As a shiny new high rise goes up next door and political forces threaten the co-op’s survival, Bailey is pulled between the needs of others and her own ambitions. As she reaches her breaking point, a little bit of magic gives her a look into an alternate reality.
Inspired by the holiday classic It’s a Wonderful Life, based in present-day Ottawa, exploring the idea ‘what would the world be like without you?’ It’s about the fun and frustration of living in a community, about housing politics, and most importantly, about family, duty and freedom.
